Effective Electric Solutions Using Residential Solar Power Systems

August 28th, 2010

Many people hit hard by the economy downfall have found ways to reduce their home expenses while creating cleaner air for the environment. The cost of electric continues to rise and the carbon released from your home is similar to that of an SUV. The solution to this problem may be in solar panels. The benefits outweigh the costs of other systems.

The expenditure of solar power systems quickly turns positive as electricity savings increase. A homeowner can expect to spend $20,000 to $40,000 depending on the size of the residence. Within five years a large, high-output electric usage home will break even. Solar power systems feed your home with clean, fixed-price electricity. On cloudy days, your home can be converted back to traditional energy. These systems require very little maintenance and will power your home for up to 30 years.

Very little maintenance is required and the solar power system will run your home for up to 30 years. Homeowners can choose systems ranging from 1000 to 10,000 watts of output depending on your needs and size of the residence. Depending on one’s needs, homeowners can choose systems ranging from 1000 to 10,000 watts of output. In the past, installing solar panels on a roof was unsightly. Rectangular and triangular models are available, blending beautifully even into multi-faceted roofs. Another benefit for installing a solar power system besides reducing your electric bill is the 30% energy tax credit.

Installing a solar power system not only reduces your electric bill, but also earns you a 30% energy tax credit, and the US House of Representatives passed legislation that extends this credit until 2016. There is no cap on the 30% and a large home system will give you back several thousands of dollars. There is no longer a $2000 cap on the 30% deduction, so large home systems will reimburse you several thousands of dollars. There are also tax deductions, property relief, and production incentives that can save you up to 60% of the purchase price.

As families become more Earth friendly, the future looks promising with an 80 % increase of homes utilizing residential solar systems as their primary electric supply. The cost of a residential system is an affordable investment bringing great value to any home. Not only will you reap the benefits of saving money, but the many other variables will make you just as proud to own a solar home. The impact on cleaner air and natural energy will demonstrate great improvements towards pollution reduction.
