fixing number plates

There are a few viable alternatives to screws when fixing number plates to vehicles. Screws have two faults in that they can be removed if someone wants to steal your plates and rainwater can get in the screw holes ruining the plates. Security screws can be used instead of normal screws to stop the plates being stolen but they won’t cure the rain water problem. There are available metal frames which are screwed to the car securely then the plates fit into the frame covering the screw heads but the clips holding the plates in are easily removed enable the plate to be stolen. One number plate manufacture is pioneering a new system whereby attempted removal of the number plates results in them self destructing rendering them of no use to anyone although these are not as freely available is the generic type. Here is a problem that some inventor could male a lot of money with a cheap solution , a fixing method which does not compromise the integrity of the plates yet is not easily removable so they can be stolen and used in other crimes such as congestion charge avoidance or driving off without paying for fuel at filling stations.
